Yoo this is super weird and creative and I love it. The aesthetic is super consistent and the combination of the two mechanics (don't get caught and don't crash) make this really engaging. One thing I would say is that it's a little hard to tell when the cockroach is turning because of the shape and size of the wheel, but other than that I really like how this plays. I really appreciated the sounds (even if they were just your mouth noises haha). Overall this is super clearly one of your works, and I'm super here for it.
This is a very interesting and weird experience and I really like it. There is a nice balance of mechanics between convincing the cockroach and not crashing the car. It was kind of confusing though cuase it is a very weird game. But after I got the gist it was interestingly amusing. The text box and the cockroach and the top view all show important and interesting information that the player needs to constantly switch between them, it was chaotic and fun. Really great experience.
This is so radical. I was worried the concept was slightly convoluted, but within seconds of playing it made sense both narratively and mechanically. The multiple screens you have to keep track of really make it feel like you're having to manage an entire car that this cockroach doesn't know how to handle, and balancing following its instructions and preventing it from dying is a perfect balancing act. I do have minor complaints, like the steering wheel direction mapping to 4 directions instead of just being a wheel. It meant that sometimes me and the bug would steer in opposite directions, and it then wasn't clear what was the stealthiest way to get back in line. Equally, I love all the text but I don't know if its the bug talking, the car talking, an AI talking or who. Grounding it in the space a bit more might help. But really that's all ideas for further development, as I really love this game as it is, and everything it could be. Great job dude!
I can definitely appreciate the sheer strangeness radiating from this one. The mere idea of playing as a car to trick some cockroach into thinking it's in control (complete with sound effects) is rad, and the obstacle-filled road is a great addition that completes the concept (having to sometimes sacrifice believability for the sake of survival makes for an engaging give and take), but I think the disconnect created by the inverted controls in the top-down perspective is just a little too disorienting considering that the player is already trying appease a cockroach without crashing. I think I understand why the feature is in place, maybe the game would be a little too easy otherwise, but I'd at least like to try playing without it. The text boxes commenting on the player's performance are welcome feedback, but I might appreciate a bar that measures how close I might be to fully convincing the cockroach. Maybe that's unnecessary, but it might at least motivate me to strategize around my "safety turns" when I know I can afford to lose a few points. Overall, awesome job! I'm definitely gonna hear that hiss in my nightmares.
This is certainly something oh boy! ( I mean that in a good way) But either way I thought this was an interesting take on the prompt and I liked the aesthetic. My only little critique is that I wish it was a little more clear how the cockroach notices that you're controlling the car. I know it has something to do with how often the player moves but it's still not super clear and it's the only way I've lost the game so far. Besides that I think this was pretty neat!
